https://youtu.be/0lM1HWV0Tjk This video really speaks to my heart as I trudge— heart and soul shattering almost once every day— through a very difficult month. What Matt Chandler says here rings true. The great crowds of people during Jesus’s time on earth, who worshiped Jesus, followed him around, witnessed his healing and exorcises, ate the “feed the thousands” bread and fish He manifested, even those who tried to make him king… were these the same who screamed to get him crucified in front of Pontius Pilate? If so, I can in part related to the kind of dark despair going through Jesus’s mind, or deep wisdom about the treacheries and evils of the human heart. Instead of indulging or even fighting the intense pains of heartbreak and pitch black, physically-debilitating sense of despair, I shall have hope and faith that our Savior knows what is going on, and He is fixing it. No matter how I feel, He IS taking care of me and things WILL be all right, not because of some positive thinking, law of attraction nonsense, or blind desperate hope, but because the WORD OF GOD the creator of all the universe (not to be underestimated and belittled as some matrix or illusive scheme), is trustworthy. He delights in me. He loves me. …. the Lord supported me. He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me. (Psalm 18:19) The mountains, oceans, and cosmic laws of physics will go away, but the word of God will not go away. This is spoken by Jesus, confirmed by astrophysicist Hugh Ross and written in many places by different authors, different times, in different books of the Bible.
Hebrews 12:4-12
“In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through – all that bloodshed! So don’t feel sorry for yourselves… God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training.”
